What do soap operas and wrestling have in common? Sam Ford.

Sam, who has just joined P’Com as our director of customer insights, is a social media specialist from the MIT Convergence Culture Consortium (C3).  Sam has a special expertise in the unique social phenomena otherwise known as soap operas and wrestling.Userpic4100x100

From writing a thesis on soaps to blogging and teaching about soaps and wrestling, Sam is your go-to guy if you have any questions about As the World Turns (ATWT) or for an occasional headlock for disobedient employees.  Many would call him the new Peppercom enforcer.

Sam has a tremendous amount of experience in researching, identifying, and analyzing media and industry trends.  As the director of customer insights, Sam is acting as a pseudo cultural anthropologist who will advise clients and Peppercom management on diverse global trends and emerging market opportunities.  Sam’s experience should help him anticipate what competitors, employees and customers are likely to do next, and work with clients and Peppercom to determine opportunities to capitalize on these trends.

Please join us in welcoming the only soap opera social media wrestler in the business to Peppercom.

Thanks for the kind words. I'm excited to be working with the PepperDigital team now but certainly plan to continue writing about soaps. If you'd like to e-mail me at samford@mit.edu, I can give you more info on how the class went this spring...
